Privacy policy
This page explains what we collect when you use PayrollModo, why we collect it, and who else can see it. It is written in plain words, not legal code.

What this policy covers
PayrollModo, Inc. runs the website at www.payrollmodo.com. This policy covers the pages and tools on that site, and the two forms we receive ourselves. Those are the provider application on the Get Listed page and the contact form.
The quote request form works differently. That form sits on our pages, but it is run by our partner 360Connect, and what you type in it goes into their system rather than ours. We can view those requests through a dashboard they give us. The section on the quote form below explains the split.
It also does not cover what a payroll provider does with your details after you contact them. Each provider sets its own rules. Read their privacy policy as well before you share anything with them.
If you use the site, you accept what this page describes.
Information you give us
You do not need an account to read the site. You share details with us only when you choose to fill in one of our own forms. Those are the provider application on the Get Listed page and the contact form.
Depending on the form, we may ask for:
- Your name and your role at the company
- Your business name and website
- Your work email and business phone number
- Your state, and the states you need payroll run in
- Your team size, pay schedule, and the services you want
- Anything you type into a message or notes box
Please do not send Social Security numbers, bank account details, or employee pay records through our forms. We do not need them, and we do not ask for them.
The quote request form is not one of ours. See the next section.
The quote request form
The quote request form appears on our pages, but our partner 360Connect provides and runs it. What you type into that form goes into their system, not ours. We do not keep our own copy of it, and it is not stored on our side.
In plain words
360Connect holds the record of your request. We can see it, because they give us a partner dashboard that shows requests sent through our pages. The record lives with them, under their rules, and we do not copy it into our own files.
We use that view for a few things. We check that requests are going through, we see how the site is performing, and we can help if you contact us about a request you sent.
360Connect handles that data under its own privacy policy, which is shown on the form. Read it before you send anything. They pass your request to providers who can answer it, and those providers may call, text, or email you at the details you gave.
We also record that a click or a submission happened on the form. That is a count, not content, and it lets the referral be credited.
If you want a quote request corrected or deleted, the record sits with 360Connect and with the providers it went to. Ask them directly, or send us a note through our contact page and we will pass the request on and help where we can.
Information we collect automatically
Our website host and our analytics tool record some basic details every time a page loads. That includes your IP address, your browser and device type, the pages you view, how long you stay, and the site or search that sent you. Your rough location, such as your state, can be worked out from your IP address.
We use this to see which pages help people and which ones need work. We do not use it to build a profile of you by name.
Cookies and similar tools
A cookie is a small file that a website stores in your browser. This site uses three kinds.
- Cookies the site needs. These keep pages working, remember your choices, and help block spam on our forms.
- Analytics cookies. These count visits and show how people move through the site. We use Google Analytics for this.
- Marketing cookies. These come from partners we work with. They help measure clicks, ads, and referrals from our pages, including clicks on the quote form. They record that an action happened, not what you typed.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Parts of the site may not work as well after that. Google also offers a browser add-on that turns off Google Analytics on every site you visit.
How we use your information
We use what you send and what we collect to:
- Answer a message you send us
- Count clicks and submissions on partner forms so a referral can be credited
- Check quote requests in our partner dashboard to see that they went through
- Review a provider application and write the listing page
- Check the facts a provider sends us against public records
- Run and improve the site, the guides, and the tools
- Send email you asked for, and reply to email you send us
- Stop spam, fraud, and abuse of our forms
- Meet the rules and record keeping the law asks of us
How we share your information
We share your details in these cases:
- With companies that run parts of the site for us. That includes our website host, our form and email tools, and our analytics tool. They may only use the data to do that job.
- When the law requires it. That includes a valid legal request, and cases where we need to protect our rights or someone's safety.
- If the business changes hands. If PayrollModo, Inc. is sold or merged, records may transfer with it. This policy still applies to what was collected before the change.
One note for providers. If we list your company, the listing page shows the business website and business phone number you gave us. That is the point of the page, so send the details you want buyers to use.
Affiliate and marketing partners
Some links and forms on this site belong to partners. We work with 360Connect. We also work with other affiliate partners, including companies that sell software with a payroll service.
The quote form is the clearest case. It sits on our page, 360Connect runs it, and your answers go to them. Other links on the site may send you to a partner page. In both cases the partner pays us a fee when a request or a sale comes from our site.
Worth knowing
Partners handle your details under their own privacy policies, not ours. Read the policy shown on the form or the page you are sent to before you send anything.
We do not sell the details you type into a partner form, because those details never reach us. What we do share is the advertising and measurement data described in the cookie section. Some state laws treat that as a share of personal information, and you can ask us to stop it. See your choices below.
Your choices
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Send you a copy of it
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete it, unless we must keep it by law
- Stop sharing it with marketing partners
Send your request through our contact page. We may need to check who you are before we act, so we do not hand your data to the wrong person. We will not treat you differently for asking.
One limit is worth knowing. We can act directly only on what we hold ourselves. A quote request is held by 360Connect and by the providers it went to, so a change or a deletion there has to be made by them. Tell us and we will pass your request on.
Every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. To stop hearing from a provider, tell that provider directly. We cannot switch off their contact for you.
How we protect your information
We use common security steps, such as encrypted connections and limits on who can open our records. No website can promise perfect security, and no one should claim otherwise.
Send only what a form asks for. If you think someone has misused a form or your details, tell us through the contact page.
How long we keep information
We keep entries from our own forms, meaning the Get Listed application and the contact form, for as long as we need them to handle your request and to keep a record of it. We keep application and listing records while a company is listed with us, and for a period after that for our own books.
We do not keep our own copy of anything sent through the quote form. That record sits in 360Connect's system and follows their retention rules, even though we can view it while it is there.
When we no longer need something, we delete it or strip out the parts that point to a person. Analytics data is kept in a summary form that does not name you.
Children
This site is built for people who run a business. It is not meant for children, and we do not knowingly collect details from anyone under 16.
If you believe a child sent us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
State privacy rights
Some states give residents extra rights over their personal information. Those rights can include the right to know what a company holds, to get a copy, to correct it, to have it deleted, and to opt out of sharing for advertising.
We handle every request the same way, whatever state you live in. Send yours through our contact page and tell us what you want us to do.
Links to other websites
Our pages link to provider websites, partner forms, and outside sources. Those sites are run by other companies. We do not control them, and this policy does not apply once you leave our site.
Check the privacy policy on any site before you share your details there.
Changes to this policy
We update this page when the way we work changes. The date at the top shows the last update. If we make a big change, we will say so on this page.
Using the site after an update means you accept the new version.
